San Juan is the largest city and the capital of Puerto Rico. It is one of the oldest surviving landmarks of Puerto Rico, founded in 1521. During the cycle of ruling, many historical events have taken place in San Juan, including the construction of La Fortaleza. The earliest Santos de Palo sculptures were made in many locations at San Juan, Puerto Rico. Due to the signifigance of the Roman Catholic Church in Puerto Rico, there are countless museums and local workshops that are dedicated to creating these sculptures.
